Trendiest Cocktails to Enjoy this Summer

159Views

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy delicious cocktails with friends. Whether you’re relaxing on the beach, enjoying a backyard BBQ or indulging in a lavish afternoon at Melbourne’s premier rooftop bar venue; these six cocktails will keep you refreshed all season long.

H2: Margarita

You don’t have to be dining at a Mexican restaurant to enjoy a thirst-quenching margarita! This classic cocktail from Mexico is made with tequila, lime juice and triple sec, best served on the rocks or frozen. The trick with margaritas is to opt for a quality tequila, as a bottom-shelf variety will leave you with a pretty undesirable headache the next morning!

H2: Mojito

For something a little more refreshing, the Mojito (hailing from Cuba) consists of rum, mint leaves, lime juice, sugar syrup and sparkling water. Best served on the rocks, the benefit of sipping mojitos on a warm summer’s day is that you are still consuming water, which helps you to stay hydrated.

H2: Pina Colada

Thanks to a certain Rupert Holmes song from 1979, pina coladas tend to be associated with “getting caught in the rain”… But even when there’s not a cloud in sight, a well-made pina colada is sure to go down a treat. Originating in Puerto Rico, this tropical cocktail is made with rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream. Best served frozen for a delightfully refreshing drink on a hot day!

H2: Daiquiri

If you’ve never tried a daiquiri, you’re missing out. This classic Cuban cocktail (yes, we have Cuba to thank for some of the best summertime cocktails ever invented!) consists of rum, lime juice and sugar syrup, and is best served on the rocks or frozen.

H2: Cuba Libre

Okay, one more summer cocktail from the “Pearl of the Antilles”. The Cuba Libre is made with rum, lime juice and cola, best served on the rocks. Yum!

H2: Gin and Tonic

And finally, the Gin and Tonic has become a staple among Australians who enjoy a refreshing low-calorie alcoholic beverage in summer (or whenever the mood strikes, really!). The G&T is a classic cocktail that consists of (you guessed it) gin, tonic water and lime juice.

H3: Summer is almost here!

It’s that time of year again. The days are getting longer, the temperature is slowly rising, and the cafes, bars and restaurants are starting to fill up again. If you’re in the mood to blow off steam with a thirst-quenching after-work cocktail this Friday, we recommend trying one of the delicious beverages listed here. Cheers!
